A leading small animal hospital has given a first glimpse at its state-of-the-art new £8 million referral centre which is set to open its doors this year.

The 12,000 sq ft animal hospital will be the new home for Linnaeus-owned London Vet Specialists (LVS), which is currently based in Belsize Park, and set to be the biggest veterinary referral centre within the M25.

The major move for LVS will also see its specialist-led team significantly expand, in turn enabling increased capacity to accept more referral cases from vet practitioners in and around the capital.

Now, LVS has released artist’s impressions of its impressive new purpose-built home, which will contain nine consult rooms, a surgical suite containing three surgical theatres, a separate intensive care ward and an isolation ward.

Cats will also receive the best possible treatment with a dedicated cat waiting area, separate cat ward and cat-specific procedure and exercise room.

Among the raft of services which will be available at the new centre are diagnostic imaging, neurology, anaesthesia, dermatology, cardiology, ophthalmology, oncology, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics and emergency and critical care, with renowned specialists combining to offer industry-leading treatment.

“SNEAK PEAK”

Emma Laws, hospital director at LVS, said: “The move to Hammersmith is a major milestone for LVS and one we are incredibly excited about. We’re really happy to be able to give people a sneak peek at what this brilliant new hospital will look like.

“It’s a much larger site than our current centre and will house some of the UK’s top veterinary specialists and state-of-the-art equipment, which will help us continue to provide the best treatment possible for patients.

“We’re already actively recruiting for a range of positions at the new hospital, so I’d encourage anyone who would like to find out more about working in our state-of-the-art facility alongside a fantastic team to get in touch with me by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. LVS is a multidisciplinary veterinary referral facility which offers expert care in anaesthesia and analgesia, cardiology, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, ophthalmology and soft tissue surgery.
